Ophthalmology Technician, Wairau Hospital, Permanent Part-time Enjoy flexibility in this permanent part-time role providing support to our Ophthalmologists and nurses. About the Role As an Ophthalmology Technician, you will provide critical support and follow-up services to outpatient clinics, freeing up our Ophthalmologists to focus on providing further procedures. You will have experience performing visual field tests, vision tests, biometry, topography, Eidon, OCT, and other tests.This is a permanent part-time role working 64 hours per fortnight (0.8 FTE), Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. There is noon-call. About the Team/Service/Location The Ophthalmology Departments at both Nelson hospital and Wairau hospital are contemporary services based on a team of Ophthalmologists with general and subspecialist training, along with specialist nurses, orthoptists, optometrists, and technicians. About You As an Ophthalmology Technician, you will have: Previous experience as a technician within Ophthalmology Knowledge and care of specialized equipment required Competency in performing OCT, visual field tests, Eidon, vision tests, and retinal field examinationsUnderstanding and experience working with clients with visual impairments Working at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
