Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, Nelson Marlborough seeks an experienced psychiatrist specialising in Infant, Child, and Adolescent Mental Health Services (iCAMHS) to join our multidisciplinary team. Permanent part-time position at 0.8FTE (64 hours per fortnight). No out-of-hours on-call commitment.Location: Marlborough Community, Blenheim, New Zealand. In addition, you will: Receive an annual allowance to cover ongoing medical education expenses, including travel and accommodation, with paid time off for conferences.Have access to an employer-matched Superannuation contribution of up to 6% of annual earnings. As a consultant, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive psychiatric care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for young patients. Your work will directly contribute to improving mental health and wellbeing in our community.The successful applicant will: Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations for infants, children, and youth up to age 18 with serious mental health conditions in Marlborough Community. Develop and implement evidence-based, individualized treatment plans. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, and social workers.Provide support and consultation to families and caregivers. Deliver high-quality, culturally responsive healthcare. Participate in community outreach and education initiatives. Show leadership potential to further develop the iCAMHS service and improve health outcomes. Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)The ideal candidate will: Bring experience and knowledge in attachment, adverse childhood events, developmental disorders, and childhood mental health to enhance care in Marlborough. Hold Fellowship or Membership of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, or equivalent. Be eligible for an Annual Practicing Certificate and Vocational Registration of Psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand.Have at least two years post-registration experience in inpatient or outpatient iCAMHS in a clinical setting. Be up-to-date with current research, treatments, and guidelines related to child and youth mental health issues. Have experience liaising with community services, schools, GPs, Maori networks, or similar international services.Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient-centered care and professional development.
