Democratic Services Officer, Lincolnshire County Council, Christchurch

Salary:£34,314 – £37,938 per annum Grade: 8 (20-21) Contract: Fixed term 18 month contract/Secondment Hours: 37 hours per week We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Democratic Services Team at Lincolnshire County Council on a fixed term basis. The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in their work with a passion for the political process, working at the heart of the authority alongside elected Members, senior officials, senior officers, and members of the public.They will be a key contact in the Democratic Services Team so will need to be approachable and an excellent communicator, have the competence to solve problems and to work under minimal supervision. They will already have knowledge of local authority decision-making (or the aptitude to learn) together with an ability to approach politically sensitive issues with diplomacy and tact. The ability to use modern IT systems, work to deadlines and produce concise and accurate summaries of sometimes complex issues is a must.The role will involve managing and servicing the Council’s Committees, Panels and Working Groups of the Council, and external countywide bodies to which Lincolnshire County Council is the host authority for Democratic Support (including the the Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority). The successful candidate will also have an involvement in supporting the civic role of the Council, the role of the Lieutenancy, elections and the scrutiny function.For external candidates, this role is offered as a fixed-term contract.
