Product Design Engineer, Christchurch

Product Design Engineer required for a boat manufacturer based in Christchurch. The ideal candidate will have product design experience or an educational background. Office working with some working from home ability depending on product stages, so candidates will need to be within a commutable distance of Christchurch.Responsibilities: Design and program for the manufacture of products to further utilise the use of in-house machinery. Prototype and product testing, and preparation of pre-manufacturing design packages. Collaborate with GRP (Glassfibre Reinforced Plastic), electrical, and mechanical engineers, and work with the management team on product integration and feasibility.Adopt a creative and solution-led approach. Prepare and take a product design from prototype stages to pre-manufacturing. Communicate effectively with different disciplines to translate practical knowledge into design. Utilize 3D printing, CNC programming, and 3D scanning technologies.Interest in boating or marine products is a plus, but not essential. Salary&Benefits: 28 days holiday plus your birthday off (total 29 days). Flexible working arrangements, including some work from home depending on project needs and equipment. Standard 9-5 Monday to Friday schedule.
