If you are not based in Christchurch, we will fly you to HQ for 2 weeks for onboarding, as well as 1 week per quarter for our“Season Openers” (we pay for your travel and accommodation). This role We are seeking an exceptional Infrastructure&Reliability Engineer to own Partly’s cloud and on-prem infrastructure. Reporting to the SRE team lead, you'll maintain and improve our systems across both environments, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and reliable. This senior role requires autonomy, leadership, and strategic thinking. If designing and supporting the backbonethat connects the world’s parts excites you, this is your role!What Will You Do Cloud Infrastructure&Automation: Ensure stability, scalability, and security of our GCP infrastructure. Use Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools like Terraform and ArgoCD to deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters and cloud resources, continuously improving deployment processes. CI/CD&Developer Tooling: Manage critical systems like GitLab and CI infrastructure to maximize developer productivity. Maintain and enhance developer environments for efficient build, test, and deployment processes. Security&Compliance: Lead security and compliance efforts, implementing best practices, managing access controls, and preparing for security audits (e.g., ISO 27001). Ensure documentation and policies meet or exceed standards. On-premise Infrastructure: Manage servers and Kubernetes clusters to ensure seamless developer experience and operations.Cost Optimization: Monitor and optimize costs across cloud and on-prem infrastructure, making resource and architecture recommendations for efficiency without compromising reliability. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with developers, data engineers, and leadership to plan infrastructure needs, provide tooling and training, and drive solutions proactively.Your Skills Professional experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles with ownership of critical systems and successful project delivery. Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools: CI pipelines, Docker/Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps workflows. Strong understanding of networking fundamentals.Deep familiarity with cloud platforms and Linux systems administration; scripting in Bash, Python, or Go. Experience with security best practices and compliance frameworks like ISO 27001 or SOC 2. Proactive ownership and leadership qualities, including mentoring or leading projects. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Adaptability and willingness to learn in a fast-growing environment. Bonus: Experience in startups, security compliance, or specific tools like GCP, ArgoCD, GitLab CI, Kafka.
