Step Into the Wild– Equipment Product Developer Pay: Competitive Location: Christchurch/Canterbury Employment type: Full-Time Job Description Req#: 7XQ7X About the Role: As an Equipment Product Developer, you’ll ensure every product that hits the shelves lives up to Macpac’s standards – designed with purpose, built for performance, and ready for the elements. You’ll translate design intent into reality by creating specifications, testing rigorously, and staying ahead of innovation in materials and construction.What You’ll Be Responsible For: Bringing new ideas to life by researching and applying the latest construction techniques and materials Developing technical products that are functional, durable, and built to go the distance Ensuring compliance and testing standards are met across all outdoor equipmentCollaborating with designers and suppliers to deliver Macpac’s product vision Creating detailed tech packs and specifications for clarity and precision What You’ll Bring: 3+ years' experience in product development, preferably in equipment or apparel Strong articulation of design concepts and product purposeKnowledge of construction, fit, and function with attention to detail Excellent communication and negotiation skills A passion for the outdoors and gear that inspires adventure Curious mindset and openness to learning technical categories Relevant tertiary qualification in product design, fashion, or similar, or equivalent experienceWhy Macpac?
