Are you a skilled and dedicated nurse ready to take on a leadership role? Elliston Hospital is seeking a dynamic and experienced Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to lead our nursing team. This is a unique opportunity to lead and inspire and make a significant impact on patient care in a supportive and community-focused environment.Role Overview: As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will: Use your clinical expertise and experience to coordinate and manage patient care delivery within our Health Unit. Lead and support a team of nursing/midwifery professionals and multidisciplinary staff, ensuring high-quality and continuous patient care.Be accountable for the outcomes of nursing/midwifery practices and multidisciplinary activities, addressing any inconsistencies between practice and policy. Foster a positive work culture, enhancing team performance and ensuring excellent patient/client outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the line management and coordination of nursing and multidisciplinary team activities to achieve optimal patient care.Implement and monitor care plans, ensuring adherence to best practices and policies. Address practice inconsistencies and policy deviations, working towards improved compliance and quality care. Develop and mentor staff, promoting professional growth and a collaborative work environment. Manage resources effectively, including staffing, performance management, and operational responsibilities.What We're Looking For: You must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse, Midwife, or Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with a current practicing certificate. At least 3 years of post-registration experience as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife. Demonstrated competence in nursing and/or midwifery practice, adhering to relevant standards.Proven leadership experience, including managing and supervising students, enrolled nurses, and less experienced staff. Highly developed skills in communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and lead change management efforts.Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant computer software.
