Senior Electrical Engineer, Christchurch

The role: We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our client’s team of experienced electrical engineers specialising in the design and delivery of critical power and distribution projects. This work will see you involved in the design of substations, overhead and underground electrical distribution lines and associated equipment. Recognising this, they provide opportunities for growth and professional development, investing in their staff development through learning platforms and career advancement programs.A day in the life of a Senior Electrical Engineer: Your day will see you involved in a variety of tasks such as: Perform site visits and assessments to determine the best design solutions. Developing conceptual and detailed electrical designs for HV/MV Substation projects. Transformer and cable sizing.Designing overhead and underground electrical distribution lines in line with industry standards and regulations. Reviewing external conceptual and detailed designs for substation projects. Managing projects to ensure on-time delivery of project documentation as per timelines and budgets. What we require from you:Ideally, you will have a consultancy background with 8 to 10 years of substation design experience in the energy or infrastructure sectors. You will be highly motivated with a desire to deliver first-class engineering services to customers, with skills and experience in: CATAN's COLDNet Pole and COLDNet profile.CAD software such as AutoCAD and Inventor. Substation equipment arrangements and installation methods. Primary&Secondary detailed design experience. Electricity protection primary and secondary testing. New Zealand’s electrical distribution standards and regulations.
