Introduction: St John of God Halswell is a leading hospital-level service provider for people with physical and neurological disabilities. We offer support and care for individuals aged 16 to 65 with conditions such as Huntington's, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Stroke recovery, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, and more. Located in a quiet suburb of Halswell, just 10 minutes from the City Centre, our facility features ample free on-site parking. Within the facility, our rehabilitation and therapy division works actively with residents to provide therapies aimed at achieving their lifestyle goals.Currently, St John of God Halswell has vacancies for casual Support Workers across various skill and education levels. We provide 24/7 care, requiring Support Workers to be available for weekday and/or weekend shifts, with shifts from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, or 3:00 pm to 9:30 pm. Additional allowances are offered for weekend and night shifts. While these are casual contracts, we expect continuity to maintain strong relationships with management, staff, and residents, and to stay informed about developments and changes.Description: About The Role In this role, you will: Support residents to lead engaging and fulfilling lives under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Follow individual care plans to support residents' health and wellbeing. Collaborate with the Activities and Rehabilitation Team to help residents achieve lifestyle goals and foster community connections.Pursue NZQA Health and Wellbeing Certificate levels with support from your manager and the Workforce Development team. Preferred Skills and Experience Professional caregiving experience (2+ years preferred). Existing Work Visa with two NZ-based work referees. Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in supporting people with disabilities.Current First Aid Qualification.
