A little bit about the role: As a Senior Product Developer, you'll lead a team to bring high-quality, innovative products to market, ensuring designs meet customer expectations and are delivered on time. Make an impact in a fast-paced environment where your expertise drives success.Your key responsibilities are: Managing the Product Development in the Technical Outdoors Hard Goods, such as backpacks, tents, and other outdoor equipment, handling workflow based on the seasonal calendar milestones, maintaining on-time developments to critical path. Entrepreneurial thinking with a natural flare is important.Responsible for technical execution and commercialising across all hard goods categories, ensuring that products are durable and perform to Kathmandu’s code of compliance. Collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure designs are developed to cost, based on target margin that meet high standards which requires creative problem-solving skills.Communicate with vendors to ensure timely development of prototypes. Creates and builds respectful, collaborative partnerships to elevate our expertise and skills by sharing joint knowledge and technologies Review, evaluate, and provide solutions to any identified issues highlighted during the development process, by communicating findings to Design, Product Manager and Production teams.This is what you'll need 10+ years of related industry experience with a medium to large outdoor apparel manufacturer, retailer, or brand. Advanced knowledge of the technical Outdoors Hard Goods and equipment categories High level of knowledge in interpreting design details and manufacturing processes and testingExperience working with offshore vendors. A background in outdoor or other performance categories with a strong understanding of materials, construction techniques, and product testing.
