About the Role The Ophthalmology Department is accredited by RANZCO for training Ophthalmologists and includes an outpatient department and specialist clinics providing emergency, tertiary, secondary, and primary eye care to the people of Canterbury/West Coast and the South Island.Enhance your career with first-class training and supervision from the Medical Education&Training Unit (METU). Be supported by our Resident Doctors Support Team (RDST). Access support at all hours, including after-hours support from Clinical Team Coordinators and SMOs. Previous experience in Ophthalmology at a registrar level would be advantageous. You must be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Check your eligibility on the Council's website. Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, or a commitment to beginning your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in projects or initiatives that give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, especially in healthcare settings.
