Graduate Geologist / Engineer - Christchurch

CGW Consulting Engineers is a multi-discipline consultant servicing a wide range of clients throughout New Zealand. Our clients are diverse including high profile commercial and public sector organisations, developers, construction companies, and property managers. We provide Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, and Environmental Engineering Services as well as Project&Design Management services. We are involved in projects from conception right through to completion for our clients. The Role: We are seeking a Graduate Geologist to join our Christchurch office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field. This opportunity is perfect for someone eager to work closely with clients and support our engineers in various disciplines. You'll gain experience in geotechnical investigations and fieldwork logging. You'll also have the ability to communicate technical information effectively to clients and be proactive in building relationships. We are looking for an individual who can work independently and as part of a team.Responsibilities: Conduct geotechnical investigations in consultation with clients. Perform site inspections and field monitoring. Complete slope stability and liquefaction assessments. Maintain positive client relationships. Write reports. Communicate and coordinate with other project stakeholders.Ensure all work complies with technical standards, legislation, and codes of practice relevant to Geotechnical engineering. Candidate Requirements: Legally entitled to work in New Zealand, with NZ Residency or a valid NZ work permit. Hold a NZ-recognized degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology.A minimum of 2 years of consultancy experience. Familiarity with NZ standards and practices. Values integrity, relationships, and is outcome-focused. A lateral thinker, agile, and self-motivated. Holds a full NZ Driver's Licence. Proactive in developing skills and expertise. Possesses good interpersonal skills to develop, maintain, and enhance client relationships.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
