About the roleWe now require an Assistant House Manager to join our team in our Senior Boys House Rutherford (Years 11-13). Creating a space where our boarders feel warm, friendly, and safe is of the highest importance to the College. Having a strong foundation for our boarders to thrive is imperative to fostering a positive growth mindset, paired with a well-structured social calendar.Reporting to the Director of Boarding, the role of an Assistant House Manager is vital, working closely with boarding students and their families as the first point of contact. We have a high level of pastoral care within the College, and the boarding facilities are no exception. Day-to-day responsibilities include being hands-on from before wake-up through to the end of the day, being on call for overnight situations, handling administration functions, managing cleaning and maintenance of the Boarding house, overseeing laundry services, and attending meetings with other House Managers and boarding events.What you’ll bring to the role We seek someone who can build rapport with students, families, and colleagues, with exceptional communication skills. You’ll work well in a team and independently, with high organizational skills and attention to detail. Pastoral care experience, especially with teenagersand preferably boarding experience, is essential.Personal qualities of honesty, integrity, enthusiasm, approachability, and fairness are important. This is a part-year position during term times only, with some weekend duties shared among staff. You will be onsite from Sunday to Thursday, with modern on-site accommodation provided year-round, including school holidays.
