Salmon Farm Technician, Christchurch

At Akaroa Salmon, we operate two sea-pen salmon production farms in Lucas and Titoki Bays, located within Akaroa Harbour. With over 35 years of operation, we are a well-established and respected salmon producer. Our processing facility in Christchurch distributes fresh chilled salmon throughout New Zealand and globally.Due to continued growth, we are seeking passionate individuals to join our farm team! This is an excellent opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts who are passionate about fish farming and eager to develop their careers in a beautiful setting. This is a full-time or part-time permanent position. Applicants must be NZ residents or hold a current working visa. The role requires weekend work, from 7am to 4.30pm daily. Responsibilities include:Feeding Harvesting Grading ROV net cleaning Net mending Technical duties such as operating ROVs for underwater inspections, grading, and broodstock handling Skipper/Deckhand duties, with opportunities for training in skipper and dive certifications This role offers significant opportunities for advancement within the company during our growth phase.Remuneration will be based on experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in aquaculture, proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, skippers tickets, diving experience, and forklift/crane operation.
