About therole Wāhi Tautoko is a 10-beddedservice located in Building 8. We aim to support consumers that requireextended assessment or treatment following an admission to the acute inpatientservice prior to discharge.This may include: tāngata whaiorawho are presenting to services for the first time that may require extendedassessment and support around management of their symptoms. tāngata whaiorathat have an identified discharge pathway on admission - i.e. home or supportedaccommodation - but may require some additional assessment and upskilling tosafely and successfully transition into the community.tāngata whaiorawho may have limited social supports and require support to increase theirengagement in their local communities.
