Ngā mōhiohio mō te tūranga | About the role Reporting to the Head of Planning&Consents, the Manager Planning is responsible for leading teams in planning, strategic transport, and urban regeneration to shape the future ofŌtautahi Christchurch. This role involves overseeing programmes and projects ranging from statutory to non-statutory planning, including: Local area planning, including the preparation and implementation of plans at an area and neighbourhood scaleEnliven Places programme of place-making Implementation of theŌtautahi Christchurch Future Transport Strategy, including Mass Rapid Transit, resilience of the transport network, and parking policy Plan changes (Council led and private requests) to the District Plan, addressing issues arising and emerging in the future, including coastal hazardsAdditionally, the role involves collaboration with partners across Greater Christchurch and the Canterbury region to plan for future developments and reforms to the resource management system. As Manager Planning, you will provide strategic guidance and support to team leaders, and advise senior management and the Council on strategic issues and the implications of reforms.Ko koe tēnei | About you You are a proven leader with a strong track record in leading teams, strategic planning, and programme management. You understand how to develop a positive, performance-driven culture and are a confident communicator who values collaboration.
