About the role Wāhi Tautoko is a 10-bed service located in Building 8, supporting consumers requiring extended assessment or treatment after admission to the adult inpatient service, prior to discharge.This includes: tāngata whaiora presenting for the first time needing extended assessment and symptom management support. tāngata whaiora with an identified discharge pathway (e.g., home or supported accommodation) who may require additional assessment and upskilling for a safe transition into the community.tāngata whaiora with limited social supports needing assistance to engage with their communities. The goals of the service include: Providing a safe, supportive environment for extended assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation. Teaching skills for illness management and supporting consumers to live fulfilling lives.Supporting the development of structure and meaningful routines. Facilitating safe discharge into community settings. About You We seek an experienced Registered Nurse with a mental health scope who is passionate about consumer-centered care. Part-time position available, 0.47 FTE. Rotating roster with 4 days off, 2 days on.Ability to work autonomously and as part of a cohesive multidisciplinary team. Skills and Experience To succeed in this role, you will need: Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand, including a current APC and mental health scope of practice. Previous experience in mental health settings.Self-motivated, flexible, and solutions-focused. Knowledge of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
