Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whānau-centred care, and excellence.About the Role The Burwood Hospital Psychology department is seeking an experienced Psychologist to join colleagues working mainly within interdisciplinary teams at Burwood Hospital. Burwood Hospital provides inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services for the Canterbury region. As a NZ-registered Psychologist with a relevant postgraduate diploma, this role offers the opportunity to work with individuals facing various factors affecting their wellbeing. We collaborate with doctors, nurses, and therapists to help patients reclaim areas of function impacted by injury and illness. You will assist patients and their whānau in developing strategies to manage symptoms, disabilities, pain, and to regain independence. Our patient population spans a wide age range and diverse ethnic and social backgrounds, offering a stimulating mix of clinical issues and challenges.About You Bring your experience in working with individuals and groups, delivering education, biopsychosocial assessments, and evidence-based psychological therapies. You will be a key team member, contributing psychological insights at meetings and in treatment planning. Training or experience in the following areas is welcomed:Assessment and rehabilitation of individuals with injuries, illnesses, or chronic health conditions. Provision of psychological interventions and support to interdisciplinary teams. An understanding of psychological processes involved in coping with trauma, grief, adjustment, rehabilitation, and regaining independence following injury or illness.Ongoing supervision and support will be provided by our experienced team of Psychologists at Burwood Hospital.
