Mō te tūnga | About the roleCaregivers play a critically important role in the lives of tamariki who cannot live safely at home. As a Caregiver Social Worker, you will partner closely with our caregivers to help them understand their role at each stage of a child's journey through care. With strong relationship management skills and a commitment to tailored support, you will ensure caregivers are well-equipped with resources, skills, and information to provide nurturing, safe, and stable homes for tamariki.You will build relationships with and support whānau and non-whānau caregivers, emergency and respite caregivers, and long-term caregivers. The role is varied and deeply rewarding, offering the opportunity to deliver tangible benefits to your community. You will work with the child's Social Worker to identify issues and develop tailored strategies to support tamariki. You may also collaborate with other agencies, community groups, and providers to meet caregivers' needs.Our team is supportive and committed to positive change for tamariki, whānau, and caregivers. As this is a Social Worker position, you must hold a Social Work qualification and be registered with SWRB.
