St John of God Halswell is a leading hospital-level service provider for people with physical and neurological disabilities. We provide a home, support, and care for people aged between 16 and 65 with neurological disabilities such as Huntington's, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Stroke recovery and rehabilitation, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, and more. The facility is located in a quiet suburb of Halswell, just 10 minutes from the City Centre, with ample free on-site parking for staff. Our rehabilitation and therapy division works actively with residents to provide the therapy needed to achieve their lifestyle goals.Currently, St John of God Halswell has vacancies for casual Support Workers at various skill and education levels. We offer 24/7 care, requiring Support Workers who can work weekdays and/or weekends across different shifts: 7:00am to 1:00pm, 7:00am to 3:00pm, or 3:00pm to 9:30pm. Additional allowances are provided for weekend and night shifts. While these are casual contracts, there is an expectation of ongoing engagement to maintain relationships with management, staff, and residents, and to stay informed about developments and changes.Job Description About the Role In this role, you will: Take direction from a Registered Nurse to support residents in leading engaging and fulfilling lives. Follow individual care plans to support residents' health and wellbeing. Collaborate with the Activities and Rehabilitation Team to help residents achieve their lifestyle goals and build community connections.Pursue NZQA Health and Wellbeing Certificate levels with support from your manager and Workforce Development team.
