About the Role Wāhi Oranga (formerly known as the Seagar Clinic) is an inpatient rehabilitation unit offering a recovery-based programme that enables people with mental health issues to live fulfilling lives in the community.The goals of this multidisciplinary service are: Provision of a safe and supportive environment for extended assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation following admission to the adult acute service Teaching skills to support illness management and help consumers live the life they want Supporting development of structure and meaningful routinesThis position involves working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 0830 - 1700, based at Wāhi Oranga (formerly the Seagar Clinic) at Hillmorton Hospital. About You In this role, you will be responsible for: Undertaking comprehensive mental health assessments using clinical interviewing, diagnostic tools, behavioral assessments, and other appropriate methodsFormulating and delivering appropriate intervention plans Providing case management and collaborating with external agencies Providing profession-specific assessments and interventions Promoting your professional perspective in clinical discussions Participating in rostered duties, including responding to crisis/emergency situationsPresenting assessments and materials to other groups Liaising with government agencies and NGOs Your skills should include: Excellent assessment skills and a sound knowledge of available treatment options Strong organizational and communication skills for working with diverse stakeholders Clinical experience in child or adolescent mental health servicesNZ Registration and current Annual Practicing Certificate A valid NZ driver’s license Bring your enthusiasm and motivation — we offer a great opportunity to develop your skills in this specialty area.
