About the role At MHA, our Chaplains are the focus for the spiritual life of the Home and Scheme, ensuring that the spiritual needs of residents, staff, and families are addressed. This includes visits to hospitals, attending staff meetings, and residents/relatives meetings, while developing and maintaining relationships between MHA and local churches and faith communities.Every day will be different, and you will have the opportunity to use your people skills to make a real difference. A significant proportion of our residents participate in regular Christian worship, which is part of the life of all our homes and schemes. Therefore, alongside an inclusive approach to spirituality, we need a Chaplain who can lead Christian worship. We are seeking someone who is in good standing with their Christian community (a lay person or ordained minister).An empathetic understanding of the spiritual aspects of aging and dementia, demonstrated through experience of providing pastoral care and, ideally, leading services, is essential.
