Teaching Assistant - High SEND, Saint Leonards Protocol Education is seeking Teaching Assistants for their SEN schools in East Sussex, in partnership with a Multi Academy Trust. Working with young people can be rewarding yet challenging, requiring patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude.The role involves supporting young people with identified Special Educational Needs or disabilities, helping to remove barriers to learning and enabling them to reach their full potential. Experience with young people is beneficial; candidates with backgrounds in support work, care, youth services, emergency services, or related fields are encouraged to apply.The school is moving into a new purpose-built facility on the Ridge, Hastings, offering specialist amenities and close to local attractions, focusing on supporting students with SEMH. Responsibilities of a SEND Teaching&Support Assistant Build and maintain positive relationships with students Support individual or groups of students in various learning environments Mentor and role-model positive behaviors Assist with physical, personal, or medical needs to promote independence Implement educational programs and activitiesRecord observations on behavior and progress Manage challenging behaviors effectively Ideal candidates may have experience in youth offending services, residential care, sports coaching, drama, psychology, or related fields.
