About The Role We are seeking two enthusiastic candidates for SHO positions in Anaesthesia at Dunedin Hospital, each for a 12-month appointment from January 2026 to January 2027. The roles include 6 months in our busy Anaesthesia department and the remaining period in rotations such as ICU, arranged with the RMO Unit to suit individual preferences. The first position commences in January 2026, and the second in July 2026.Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in Anaesthesia as a career. These roles serve as a stepping stone towards the South Island Anaesthesia Training Scheme within the four-year ANZCA Training Programme. You will receive daily direct consultant teaching, gaining experience in pre-assessing patients, administering anaesthesia across all ages, obstetric anaesthesia, resuscitation, technical skills, and pain management. There is no on-call requirement.Location Highlights The Southern District includes Dunedin, Invercargill, Queenstown, and Wānaka.
