Healthy Active Learning Advisor - Dunedin/Waitaki Full-time, Permanent Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi Health and physical education Are you passionate about promoting active, healthy lifestyles for tamariki through education and physical activity? Sport Otago is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Healthy Active Learning Advisor based in eitherDunedin or Oamaru. Working in a fun, collaborative, and supportive team, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of physical activity and well-being in schools.You will work with 9 primary and intermediate schools across Otago to support them in understanding the value of the health and physical education curriculum, as well as advocating for quality school and community play, sport, and physical activities outside curriculum time. You will collaborate closely with principals, senior leaders, and teachers of primary and intermediate schools to provide advice and customized support.The successful candidate will: Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in education, sport/recreation/community sport/development, or have equivalent experience; Have experience, knowledge, and understanding of the operating models in primary and intermediate schools and/or kura; Have experience in designing and facilitating professional learning and development opportunities;Possess knowledge of how the sport and education sectors interact to deliver PE, sport, active recreation, and play opportunities for tamariki; Have experience in planning, coordinating, and implementing quality play, sport, and physical activity opportunities for tamariki.
