Full time, Fixed term, Start Date: 14/07/2025, End Date: 17/12/2025 (Positions under National Review) Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Resource teacher English We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Resource Teacher of Literacy (RTLit) to join our team at Te Pākihi o Maru in Oamaru. This fixed-term position (until 17 December 2025) offers an exciting opportunity to support students in North and EastOtago who are experiencing difficulties with literacy learning. You will work closely with kaiako, whānau, and other support staff to develop and implement targeted interventions, while also contributing to the school's overall literacy improvement plan.Key responsibilities: Conduct literacy assessments and provide individualised instruction to students. Collaborate with kaiako to develop and implement differentiated teaching strategies in the classroom. Support kaiako with professional development and best practices in literacy instruction. Work with families to build understanding and support for student literacy development.Contribute to the school's literacy improvement goals. Requirements: Qualified and registered teacher with a strong understanding of literacy development and effective teaching practices. Experience working with students who have literacy difficulties. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Proven ability to collaborate with kaiako and whānau. A passion for supporting student success.
