__________ DEPARTMENT OF PREVENTIVE AND SOCIAL MEDICINE | TE TARI HAUORA TŪMATANUI DUNEDIN SCHOOL OF MEDICINE | TE KURA WHAIORA A ŌTEPOTI About Our Team/Mō Te Tīma At the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine at the University of Otago, we work to understand why some people are healthy and some are not, how to prevent illness and injury, how people's health can be improved through working with communities, how political systems and health organisations affect health, and other issues relating to the health of populations.The role/Te mahi We are seeking a Teaching Fellow to support teaching in the undergraduate and postgraduate Public Health programmes. You will work closely with the Course Convenor and assist with developing teaching materials, delivering lecturers, tutorials and seminars. Additionally, you will also assist with assessment, marking, reporting, and the management of electronic learning platforms related to the Public Health programme.Skills And Experience/Kā Pūkeka Me Kā Wheako To be successful in this role candidates must have a postgraduate qualification in Public Health or a related discipline. Candidates are also expected to have: Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing demands. The flexibility to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.The ability to engage with students and staff from a range of academic and cultural backgrounds. A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, especially within the context of Public Health and the University environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Further details/Pūroko This is a part-time (0.6 FTE), permanent position based in Dunedin. The salary range for this position is $73,166 to $99,420 per annum, pro rata. Appointment level will be dependent on academic achievement, skills and experience.
