2026 Training Year | Psychiatry Registrar Salary Band C– $130,566 - $194,820 + Kiwisaver Dunedin and Wakari Hospitals Permanent Full Time Why train as a Psychiatry Registrar in Dunedin We offer rigorous academic training and specialised clinical opportunities: Academic psychiatry position working in close collaboration with the University of OtagoA comprehensive programme with well-established training scheme You will be part of a year cohort who meet weekly face to face for teaching, allowing you to forge relationships with likeminded peers and academics Mentoring programme and supervisor support tailored to your needs Weekly dedicated teaching during the university semester (protected day-release teaching)We can accommodate Advanced Training in RANZCP sub-speciality Certificates Close ties to University of Otago You will be in frequent contact with leading academics in the field if you wish to pursue research in mental health and addictions The program is led by locally trained psychiatrists. As such, we understand and acknowledge the challenges trainees may face in vocational training, dedicating considerable resources to fulfilling not only educational requirements but also the unique needs of each trainee. About The Role You'll be part of a team of dedicated and experienced Consultants, Registrars, House Officers, and Nursing and Allied Health professionals working across a range of services, including:Emergency Psychiatry Services Youth Specialty Services Early Intervention Service Specialist Addiction Services Forensic Psychiatry including inpatient Consult Liaison Mental Health for Older People (inpatient and Consult Liaison) Intellectual Disability General Adult Community Services General Adult wardsChild and Family Ashburn Clinic Please note that while we do not offer a designated Rural run, some of the above runs do provide Rural experience.
