About The Role Southern has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Medical Oncologist to join our friendly team at Dunedin Hospital on a permanent basis. The hospital is located in a unique and attractive location in beautiful Aotearoa. The Southern Blood&Cancer Service includes 8 Medical Oncologists, 1 nurse practitioner, 5 Radiation Oncologists, and 6 Haematologists, working in a tertiary referral centre with strong links to the School of Medicine at Otago University. Dunedin Hospital is a 350-bed teaching and training institution offering a full range of sub-specialties and serving as a training site for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. We support staff research and continuing medical education. Our service has a solid research program, and applicants with a sub-specialty interest or teaching interest are encouraged to apply.The service provides regional care covering the lower South Island. The role involves outreach clinics to peripheral centres, participation in an on-call roster overseeing admissions and managing in-patients, and providing advice to clinicians and patients across the district.
