About the Role We have a permanent opportunity available to join our Te Manawa Taki team as a Regional Communicable Diseases Development and Delivery Lead .This leadership role in our regional health protection team and the National Public Health Service involves leading and driving the regional Health Protection Team's Communicable Disease programme to support Pae Ora. Responsibilities include designing regional ways of working, establishing networks across regions and with national teams, and regular travel across the region.About the Service The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, aims for Pae Ora (healthy futures) by addressing determinants impacting health, focusing on wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level interventions. We deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered, and locally tailored.About you You are proactive, strategic, confident in leadership, experienced in developing and implementing health programmes, and skilled in project management. You can lead teams through change respectfully, work collaboratively, and maximize team contributions to achieve results. Skills and Experience A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experienceExperience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action Understanding of Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022 and its application 5+ years of programme or project development experience Experience in innovative working methods and leadership Experience in leading change and quality improvement initiativesFull NZ Driver Licence Willingness to travel across the region Working for Health New Zealand We are committed to excellent healthcare and a diverse, inclusive workforce.
