You will work closely with a supportive farm manager to plan and execute farming operations and pasture management, aiming to optimize processes and animal performance.You will be part of a high-performing team of six, valuing communication and collaboration. During busy seasons, you will manage casual/seasonal staff. This hands-on role involves tasks such as shifting stock, measuring pasture, maintaining records in Farm IQ, and other essential farm duties. Your expertise in feed planning and animal health standards will be highly valued.Managing casual/seasonal staff when required will be part of your responsibilities. Experience with horses for shifting stock is preferred, or a keen willingness to learn. If you are a confident operator seeking a role with autonomy and support, this is a great opportunity. The Farm Parikanapa Station is a 2,350ha hill country station located in the Waerenga-o-kuri district, 40 minutes from Gisborne. It runs 9,000 lambing ewes, 1,050 calving cows, and finishes 1,400 heifers annually. Horses are regularly used for stock movement.Outdoor recreational activities are nearby. Primary schooling is available at Waerenga-o-kuri with a school bus to the gate; secondary schooling is in Gisborne. About You We seek someone with strong practical skills, sound animal husbandry knowledge, good organization, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proven stock management experience Understanding of feed budgeting and pasture management Excellent time management and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and confidence with digital farm management tools (e.g., Farm IQ) Commitment to animal welfare and health&safety Experience with horses or willingness to learn Full NZ driver’s license Apply Now Applications close on Sunday, 25 May 2025 .
