About the Role Te Whatu Ora Tairāwhiti (Gisborne) seeks Orthopaedic Registrars for full-time positions from February 2026 to January 2027. This role is accredited for the Rural Hospital Medicine Training Program through the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners.Registrars will work closely with supervising Orthopaedic Surgeons or Senior Medical Officers, gaining experience in Operating Theatre, Fracture Clinic, Inpatient Ward, and Outpatient settings with daily supervision. Gisborne Hospital, a 110-bed acute care facility serving a wide area including the East Cape, offers diverse work opportunities. It provides comprehensive surgical services, diagnostic facilities including MRI and CT scanners, and has strong ties with tertiary referral centers in Waikato.Located on New Zealand's North Island, Gisborne is known for its natural beauty, rich Māori culture, and relaxed lifestyle, offering a work-life balance that is highly desirable.
