We are seeking individuals passionate about civil engineering laboratory testing who wish to pursue a career in this vital industry.Civil Materials Lab Technician - Gisborne Our Gisborne Laboratory is looking for a Civil Materials Lab Technician to join their team. Previous experience in a civil engineering laboratory is beneficial but not required; full training will be provided. You will conduct hands-on testing of civil engineering materials, such as concrete, asphalt, soils, bitumen, and aggregates, in accordance with NZ and International Standards.This role involves working on various projects in the laboratory or in the field, with occasional night shifts. It requires physical activity, including lifting and carrying heavy materials and equipment. About you: Previous experience in a civil engineering laboratory is advantageous. If you lack laboratory experience, we welcome recent high school leavers or applicants with experience in labor/trades roles such as construction, roading, warehousing, or farming.A good level of fitness and strength are necessary, as the role can be physically demanding, involving lifting up to 30kg. You hold a current, clean NZ driver’s license. You possess excellent communication skills and are a team player.
