Mō te tūnga | About the role Youth Justice offers a pathway for tamariki and rangatahi who have, or are alleged to have, committed an offence. It provides a genuine opportunity to change their lives for the better without a criminal record and to make positive strides forward.As a Youth Justice Social Worker, you will collaborate with rangatahi, their whānau, police, youth advocates, and support services to address underlying factors contributing to offending, aiming to reduce lifelong offending potential. This role offers a chance to positively influence rangatahi and whānau, fostering environments where tamariki and rangatahi can flourish.To be considered, you must hold a Social Work Qualification, Full Registration, and a current Annual Practicing Certificate with the New Zealand Social Worker Registration Board.
