Thisis a full-time, permanent position working across four schools: John Paul II High School, St Patrick’s School, Runanga School, and Barrytown School.You will play a key role in advocating for students with additional learning needs, coordinating support services, and leading learning support initiatives across our diverse school communities. You will work collaboratively with principals, SENCOs, classroom teachers, whānau, and external agencies to ensure inclusive practices and equitable outcomes for all learners.At JPII, you will also hold the SENCO position and lead a dedicated learning support team. This aspect of the position requires strong leadership, communication and coordination skills, and a heart for nurturing inclusive learning environments. Key responsibilities Coordinate and lead learning support across the four schools.Identify and support students with diverse learning needs. Lead and manage the learning support team at John Paul II High School. Facilitate access to NZQA Special Assessment Conditions (SAC). Promote awareness and understanding of dyslexia and other learning differences. Build collaborative networks with staff, whānau, and external agencies.We are looking for An experienced and empathetic educator who: Has a strong background in learning support and/or inclusive education. Demonstrates leadership capability and team management experience. Possesses up-to-date knowledge of dyslexia, neurodiverse learning needs, structured literacy, English as a Second Language, and NZQA Special Assessment Conditions.Communicates effectively and advocates strongly for student success. Can build strong, trusting relationships with diverse school communities. Applicants must be NZ registered, fully conversant with the NZ Curriculum and have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa for a term 3 start.
