What we do differently:We invest in training and career progression for our employees We offer up to 4% Kiwisaver from day one, increasing to 6% after five years of service We support our staff with free access to a confidential Employee Assistance Programme Job Objectives: Perform Excavator Operator, Driver, and Labourer roles across Westland and support the Grey team as neededSupervise and manage work crews on-site when in charge Follow company policies and health and safety regulations Participate in after-hours emergency work as required Work Tasks: Excavator Operator: Support construction and engineering projects Handle and move materials Perform road work, excavation, and lifting tasksMaintain plant equipment through routine checks like greasing Operate excavators and attachments safely, understanding load requirements and safety protocols Communicate effectively with site personnel and respond to signals Report damages and maintenance needs Identify and report hazards, ensuring safety standards are metMaintain safe operation of machinery and equipment Follow health, safety, and environmental rules to ensure a safe work environment Driving: Perform general driving duties as needed Labouring: Labouring duties are integral to this role and may include: Shovelling, digging, raking, and other manual tasksAssist with various duties throughout the West Coast Other Responsibilities: Adhere to company policies Ensure health and safety compliance in all tasks Skills and Experience: The ideal candidate will have: Extensive civil construction experience Experience operating excavators up to 20 tonnes (essential)Class 4 and 5 driver’s licenses (preferred) W, T, R endorsements Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand, pass a Ministry of Justice background check, and undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol testing. #J-18808-Ljbffr
