They are committed to providing the critical infrastructure and services that power a thriving, modern city.Job Description He angituutanga: The opportunity Reporting to the Urban Transport Manager, you will support the implementation of the Access Hamilton Transport Strategy, especially the Parking Policy and associated Parking Management Plans for key locations with high parking demand throughout the city. Your responsibilities will include:Assist in developing Parking Management Plans for high-demand areas and oversee their implementation. Implement Parking Management Plans, including determining parking restrictions (time and price), conducting consultations, obtaining approvals, communicating changes to the public, and executing parking adjustments.Collaborate closely with internal teams such as Urban Transport Policy&Planning, Development Engineering, Transport Systems Engineers, Data Scientists, Network Operations, and Parking Enforcement to ensure plans are delivered effectively and restrictions are legally compliant. Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Business Associations, advocacy groups like CCS Disability Action and Disabled Persons Assembly, Waikato Hospital, and Waikato University, to ensure effective communication and consultation.Monitor parking operations with the Parking Enforcement team to manage parking stock and identify necessary network changes, including adjustments to demand-responsive charges. Keep systematic and accurate records to report on progress, occupancy data, revenue, and manage budgets for on-site changes.Qualifications Oo puumanawa me oo wheako | Your skills and experience Diploma in Civil Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering Technology (preferred). Current clean Full NZ Drivers License. Excellent numeracy and communication skills (verbal and written). Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.Knowledge of CAD and GIS software. At least 2-3 years’ experience in Local Government. Experience in customer service and stakeholder engagement. Knowledge of traffic engineering principles, transport law, NZS 3901, and relevant statutes. Proven experience in parking operations or related engineering fields.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with data interpretation ability. Familiarity with parking management systems and technologies. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Additional Information He aha te utu kaimahi? | What’s the salary?
