Senior Academic Staff Member - Midwifery Listed 2 days Ago Education We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Academic Staff Member– Bachelor of Midwifery to join our midwifery team within the Centre for Health and Social Practice | Te Pūkenga . This role is vital for supporting the delivery and development of the Bachelor of Midwifery programme at Te Kuratini o Waikato.This position contributes to our unified midwifery programme, developed collaboratively with Ara and Otago Polytechnic. It offers an opportunity to shape the future midwifery workforce while promoting equity and Te Tiriti-honouring education. The role involves teaching, curriculum development, and research, with a focus on complex midwifery care.The salary range for this position is between $87,600 and $115,000, depending on skills and experience. The Senior Academic Staff Member will be based at our Centre for Health and Social Practice | Te Pūkenga, reporting to the Team Manager, Midwifery, and will be responsible for: Designing and delivering high-quality midwifery education, including face-to-face, clinical, and online teachingSupporting student success through mentoring, reflective practice, and inclusive learning strategies Leading or contributing to curriculum development and delivery of a unified midwifery programme Engaging in scholarly activity and contributing to midwifery research To succeed in this role, you will have:Registration as a Midwife in Aotearoa with at least five years of practice experience A completed Master’s or PhD qualification, or current enrolment with a commitment to ongoing study A strong understanding of Mātauranga Māori and a commitment to Te Tiriti-honouring education Experience in tertiary teaching and the ability to facilitate student learning in various settingsExpertise or interest in complications, complex care, and/or midwifery research We value diversity and encourage applications from all interested individuals, regardless of whether you meet all the criteria.
