Rail Terminal Supervisor of Operations, Hamilton

PRS Auto is currently seeking a Rail Terminal Supervisor of Operations for immediate hire. In this role, you will oversee the unloading (driving) of new automobiles from railcars at the Norfolk Southern (NS) Ayer, MA rail terminal. PRS is an independent contractor of the railroad, not affiliated with the railroad itself. No prior experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided. Prior supervisory experience is preferred but not mandatory.Bilingual proficiency (English / Spanish) is required. Job Summary: The Rail Terminal Supervisor of Operations is responsible for coordinating terminal operations to meet service level requirements, following policies and procedures established by the company and management team. Essential Job Responsibilities:Oversee scheduling and coordination of automotive activities at the terminal. Ensure personnel meet productivity and service standards. Prioritize safety, productivity, and efficiency; communicate with customers regarding unloading; manage equipment availability and security within the intermodal yard.Support safety policies and uphold high standards among employees. Handle automotive freight cost-effectively while maintaining customer service standards. Coordinate inventory and auto placement for accuracy and security. Determine manpower levels, schedule personnel, and assign duties.Maintain regular communication with senior management for updates and improvements. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Valid driver’s license, ability to pass background check and drug test. Knowledge of the railroad industry through vocational training, apprenticeship, on-the-job experience, or similar supervisory roles.Ability to assist in conflict resolution and mediation. Proven managerial skills are preferred, including leadership, employee training, and understanding of industry regulations. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
