Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role The Environmental Planning Programme at Te Kura Toi School of Arts is seeking a talented, full-time Postdoctoral Fellow with expertise in agent-based land-use modeling to join an innovative team of leading researchers. This is an exciting opportunity tocontribute to a groundbreaking 3-year project funded by the National Hazards Commission, focused on understanding future multi-hazard urban risk profiles.You will play a key role in driving research activities, collaborating with stakeholders, organizing meetings, and producing high-impact research outputs. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to seek new research and funding opportunities, making a significant contribution to advancing urban risk understanding.This full-time position (37.5 hours per week) is initially fixed term for 18 months, with an ideal start date of June 2025. There is potential for extension based on continued funding availability. The annual salary for this role ranges from $87,500 to $104,322 (pro-rata), depending on your qualifications, skills, and experience.For more information on the role please see the position description. Ko wai koe? - Who are you?You hold a PhD (or are in the final stages of completion) in Urban Planning, Geography, Data Science, or a relevant discipline. You are passionate about developing cutting-edge methods to bridge the gap between research evidence and planning practice in the land use/hazard risk management space. You bring strong skills in programming and/or agent-based or mathematical modelling and can work effectively with both researchers and practitioners to deliver high-quality research and impactful outputs.Don't meet every single requirement?
