The Community Development Team aims to improve social, cultural, environmental, and economic wellbeing for Hamiltonians by utilizing community-led development principles. We work with communities of Place, Identity, and Interest. We are a close-knit team that knows our work makes a real impact, and we support each other positively.We have an opportunity for someone passionate about community development and with relevant experience to join us as a Community Advisor. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in community-led approaches, capacity building of community organizations, and strong communication and influencing skills.Your ability to work across organizations to achieve social wellbeing outcomes will be key. Ideally, you will have established networks in Hamilton, skills in activating and enabling organizations and communities, and the ability to operate professionally in a political environment. Your energy and passion for the community and desire to build a better tomorrow will make you stand out.Qualifications Oo puumanawa me oo wheako | Your skills and experience 5+ years’ experience in a similar industry. Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnership responsibilities. Experience working with diverse groups and advanced cross-cultural understanding. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in partnership with community groups.Stakeholder relationship management skills, including establishing new relationships. Ability to operate independently and collaboratively to achieve outcomes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
