Full-time, permanent opportunity for a SWRB registered Social Worker based at our Lower Hutt Site Specialised role focusing on recruiting, assessing, and supporting caregivers to provide the best possible care for tamariki. Make a tangible difference to the experiences and outcomes of tamariki and young persons in Aotearoa.As this is a regional team, you will work across the wider Wellington region to meet the needs of our business and caregivers. Mō te tūnga | About the role Caregivers play a critically important role in the lives of tamariki who cannot live safely at home. As a Caregiver Social Worker, you will partner closely with caregivers to help them understand their role at each stage of a child's journey through care. Your strong relationship management skills and commitment to tailored support will ensure caregivers are well equipped with resources, skills, and information to provide nurturing, safe, and stable homes for tamariki.You will build relationships with and support whānau and non-whānau caregivers, emergency and respite caregivers, and long-term caregivers. The role involves working as a team with the child's Social Worker to identify issues and develop tailored strategies that facilitate positive outcomes for tamariki. Collaboration with other agencies and community groups may also be required, and assessment writing is a significant part of the role, requiring strong written communication skills.Note: As this is a Social Worker position, you must hold a Social Work qualification and be registered with SWRB.
