Health And Safety Manager, Invercargill

Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health and Safety Manager to join our senior leadership team and to develop, implement, and oversee health and safety policies across all company operations. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with legal standards and promote a culture of health, safety, and continuous improvement to protect employees, customers, and the environment.Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and review occupational health and safety (OHS) policies, programs, and procedures. Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures. Lead investigations of accidents/incidents and propose corrective actions. Deliver health and safety training sessions and workshops.Monitor compliance with safety laws and company policies. Prepare and present reports on accidents, incidents, and general safety conditions. Collaborate with regulatory agencies and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation. Advise management on health and safety issues and recommend improvements.Manage audits and inspections to ensure continuous adherence to regulations. Support emergency response planning and lead drills. Qualifications: Minimal Level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety. [Minimum] 5+ years of experience in a similar health and safety role, preferably in [industry, e.g., manufacturing, construction, recycling operations].Professional certification such as NEBOSH, OSHA, CSP, or equivalent preferred. Strong knowledge of New Zealand health and safety regulations. Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and health and safety management software.
