Required for Indian Restaurant Located at PAPAKURA, AUCKLAND, New Zealand. PAYRATE $26.00 to $28.00 The position is full time and permanent with 35 or more hours per week.Job Description: GAJPATI TRADING LIMITED T/A GUJJU CHAAT HOUSE is currently seeking for a Cook. Some of the duties and responsibilities you will be responsible for include: Required skills: The Cook needs to be able to prepare traditional Indian hot food snacks, such as Samosas, Khaman, Dhokla, and South Indian and Gujarati dishes.Responsible for managing the kitchen workflow. Preparation of Samosas, Khaman, Dhokla, South Indian and Gujarati dishes, as well as other hot food item recipes and packaging. Managing all the hot food snacks and supervising staff. Undertaking all stock ordering and stock level reports to the manager.Set up all the deliveries to routine customers. Training, managing packaging staff. Ensuring kitchen health and safety compliance. Always ensure the kitchen is clean. Other duties as required by the Manager. Ensure that inventory is maintained and all ingredients are stocked in accordance with the requirements outlined for the hot food snacks product.Must be able to operate commercial equipment, including the commercial oven, and prepare samosas and snack items. Detailed training will be provided. Coordinate with delivery staff and follow the daily order list to prepare all items accordingly. Instruct the delivery staff according to the orders from specific customers.Ensure that all kitchen utensils, tools, and equipment are well-maintained. Provide cost estimation for any new or existing dishes, according to the business's needs. Discuss with management customer preferences and advise on any necessary changes to the hot food snacks in line with demand. Check and ensure quality of ingredients.Implement new cooking techniques to enhance the customer experience. Meet with clients where required to discuss catering requirements for functions. Any other tasks involved in the management of the kitchen as well as the preparation of snacks and hot food items of the restaurant. Pass random drug and alcohol tests (when required) Clear criminal record Have an excellent manner with people, especially team members. Reliable and flexible to change. Must be able to work across any shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.Must be able to work in split shifts.
