We’re on the lookout for experienced Diesel Mechanics to join busy teams across Hawkes Bay. Whether you’re based locally or keen on a fresh start in a beautiful part of NZ, we want to hear from you.What you’ll be doing: You’ll be hands-on across a wide range of diesel vehicles and equipment. Key responsibilities include: Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults Dismantling, repairing, and reassembling engines and components Replacing worn or defective parts Following service manuals and technical guidesPerforming scheduled servicing (oil changes, tune-ups, lubrication, etc.) Testing and adjusting parts for optimal performance Using diagnostic tools and computer systems Responding to breakdown callouts Inspecting vehicles and issuing (or advising on) roadworthiness What we’re looking for: 3+ years' experience working on diesel enginesTrade qualification preferred (or equivalent experience) Own tools and reliable transport Class 1 licence preferred Strong commitment to health&safety Able to pass a pre-employment drug test Two recent work references What you’ll get: $32–$40/hour, depending on experience Minimum 30 hours/week guaranteed Varied and challenging work Long-term opportunities with great clients Support from a recruiter who values you!
