Make it your story.This position reports to Local Product Group Manager Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to improving Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance in your assigned area of responsibility to cultivate a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE. You will support the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge, offering solutions and advice. The work model for this role is onsite. This position contributes to the Power Protection product group based in Napier. You will support local stakeholders in understanding their obligations, liabilities, and requirements for role fulfillment, as per local HSE laws and group/business-specific requirements. The role also involves site maintenance responsibilities to ensure a safe, efficient, and sustainable working environment, including contributing to the Electrical Safety Team, managing site maintenance activities, and driving sustainability improvements. Your main accountabilities include:Reporting HSE incidents to management and relevant stakeholders, and taking appropriate actions. Facilitating incident investigations to learn ways to mitigate risks. Providing feedback on lessons learned and best practices within the unit and across ABB. Supporting behavioral change through the implementation of performance improvement programs.Our team dynamics: You will be part of a global, diverse, and multi-skilled team that operates across different time zones and cultures, engaging in meetings outside standard hours to accommodate international collaboration. Qualifications for the role: Proven industry experience in manufacturing or assembly environments.Understanding of NZ HSE legislation and practical application. Experience in site maintenance coordination or facility management. Passion for creating safe, efficient, and sustainable work environments, with an interest in external sustainability trends and continuous improvement. Relevant qualifications (e.g., NZ Diploma in Workplace Health&Safety, NEBOSH) are preferred. Strong communication skills in English, with engagement and influencing abilities.
