We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant Engineer to oversee and enhance our engineering operations. This pivotal role requires a balance of strategic leadership and hands-on engineering expertise to ensure optimal performance of our facilities.Key Responsibilities: Engineering Coordination&Project Management: Lead and manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope. Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a small team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Budget&Accounts Management: Develop and manage budgets for engineering projects and maintenance activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial accountability. Production Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between the engineering department and production teams to align objectives and enhance operational efficiency.Hands-On Engineering: Engage directly in engineering tasks, providing technical expertise and support to the team as needed. Compliance&Health and Safety: Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry regulations and company policies, prioritising health, safety, and food safety standards. Contractor Coordination: Manage relationships with external contractors, overseeing their work to ensure alignment with project goals and compliance requirements.Reliability Maintenance: Implement and oversee maintenance strategies to enhance equipment reliability and minimize downtime. Desired Skills and Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline. Proven experience in engineering service management within a manufacturing or food processing environment.Strong knowledge of site services and basic engineering principles, with a background as a Fitter Turner being highly advantageous. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Analytical mindset with the capability to troubleshoot complex engineering issues effectively.In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations, with experience implementing compliance initiatives. Proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on delivering results within set timelines and budgets.
