Make it your story.This is a position with grade 99 This position reports to Agile Unit Leader for Product Platforms Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and represent Research and Development (R&D) operations to achieve the agreed R&D targets. Each day, you will ensure delivery of R&D results to enhance ABB's position and profitability while supporting global R&D management in developing technology and footprint strategies. You will also showcase your expertise by fostering effective and trust-based cooperation with other local R&D operations. The work model for the role is: onsite #LI-Onsite This role contributes to the Power Protection Agile Unit in Napier. You will be part of this Agile Unit and report directly to the Agile Unit Leader for Product Platforms. Besides your role as Chapter Leader, you will also, based on your expertise, be part of a specific Agile Team.You will be mainly accountable for: Delivering the Chapter mission: Sharing best practices and know-how and developing standards and guidelines on how to develop and optimize Electrical and Mechanical Systems in the Power Protection portfolio. Developing IP strategy within your area of work.Acting as a coach with deep expertise and ensuring that chapter members have appropriate competencies and skills for Power Conditioning&MV Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) product lines. Conducting performance reviews of chapter members, collecting input from relevant stakeholders, and ensuring the team receives regular updates on new developments, both technical and R&D process-related. Qualifications for the role Highly skilled in designing Electromechanical solutions for Electrical Equipment. More than 5 years of experience in R&D Electrical and Mechanical Systems, with 3 or more years in leading R&D development. Knowledge and experience with Agile methodology is advantageous. Proven expertise in consultancy, analytical thinking, and communication, showcased through effective servant leadership. Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.Proficiency in communicating in English, both spoken and written.
