Make it your story.This is a position with grade 99 This position reports to Agile Unit Leader for Product Platforms Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and represent Research and Development (R&D) operations to achieve the agreed R&D targets. Each day, you will ensure the delivery of R&D results to enhance ABB's position and profitability while supporting global R&D management in developing technology and footprint strategies. You will also showcase your expertise by fostering effective and trust-based cooperation with other local R&D operations. The work model for the role is onsite. This role contributes to the Power Protection Agile Unit in Napier. You will be part of this Agile Unit and report directly to the Agile Unit Leader for Product Platforms. Besides your role as Chapter Leader, you will, based on your expertise, be part of a specific Agile Team. Your main accountabilities include:Delivering the Chapter mission: sharing best practices, developing standards and guidelines for developing and optimizing Electrical and Mechanical Systems in the Power Protection portfolio. Developing IP strategy within your area of work. Acting as a coach with deep expertise, ensuring chapter members have the necessary competencies and skills for Power Conditioning&MV Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) product lines. Conducting performance reviews of chapter members, collecting input from relevant stakeholders, and keeping the team updated on technical and R&D process developments. Qualifications for the role Highly skilled in designing electromechanical solutions for electrical equipment. More than 5 years of experience in R&D electrical and mechanical systems, with at least 3 years in leading R&D development. Knowledge and experience with Agile methodology is advantageous. Proven expertise in consultancy, analytical thinking, and communication, demonstrated through effective servant leadership. Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.Proficient in English, spoken and written.
