Regional Property Coordinator Supportive Housing About the Business: Housing First is an exciting collaborative programme managed by The Salvation Army Nelson Tasman Bays Corps. It provides rapid housing and wrap-around supports to people experiencing long-term homelessness in Nelson Tasman. Housing First recognises that addressing complex needs such as mental health and addiction is much easier once individuals are housed.About the Role: The Property Coordinator plays a key role within a multi-disciplinary Housing First team. You will be responsible for providing housing for vulnerable people and managing tenancies effectively for all tenants of Housing First Nelson Tasman. The ideal candidate will have experience in Property Management and knowledge of the local housing market.Responsibilities include: Overseeing and assisting with client movement into and out of transitional houses. Managing processes and functions for all properties in the region. Managing client movements into and out of transitional houses. Ensuring homes are clean, well-maintained, and welcoming.Managing rent payments for transitional/supportive housing in the region. Supporting house finding efforts. Our ideal candidate will have: Excellent written and oral communication skills. The ability to work cooperatively in a team, sharing information and best practices while maintaining privacy and confidentiality.Previous or current experience in transitional housing is advantageous. Computer literacy including Teams, Outlook, and Office 365. Sensitivity, care, and patience when relating to people. A strong understanding of social justice issues. The ability to work towards targets and deadlines. Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to meet multiple demands.Strong cultural competency, with the ability to work from a bicultural perspective. A commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation Army. Some knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act (RTA).
